Visual Arts

The Visual Arts Program offers students hands-on art projects designed to present the elements and principles of design with a variety of media. The Pottery Studio space is equipped with a potter’s wheel, a variety of potter’s tools, and a kiln for ceramics. The Art Studio is where drawing, painting, printmaking, and other 2-D projects are undertaken.

Students learn not only how to make art and creatively express their ideas, but they also learn about related careers and the opportunities their creativity may hold for them. Cultural literacy is emphasized through integrated art history with grade-level study themes.

In conjunction with the Performing Arts and the Applied Arts and Technology programs, students get the opportunity to create sets, design and make costumes, apply makeup, and design and create props, posters, and programs for school productions.
