Letter to Parents & Staff Regarding COVID 19 Updates – March 11, 2020
RE: Coronavirus/COVID-19 Updates and Procedural Changes
March 11, 2020
Dear TLC Staff and Parents,
The novel coronavirus/COVID-19 continues to spread globally and presents a very fluid situation as the federal, state, and local authorities share information. Thus far, the alerts from the CDC and state health departments have recommended the restriction of international travel and, in many cases, they have included restricted interstate travel.
Given our concern for the safety of all our TLC community members, we are asking parents and staff to self-identify if they plan to travel internationally. We are recommending that students and staff who have traveled internationally to self-quarantine for at least two weeks after their arrival back into the U.S.
Please notify Heather, RN, our TLC nurse, if you are planning to travel.
For more information on self-quarantine, please see the Washington Post article: https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/2020/03/06/coronavirus-how-to-self-quarantine/
Additionally, we are implementing the following measures based on the State of Connecticut’s emergency recommendations:
All off-campus field trips in and out of state are cancelled.
Any audience activities on-campus, including the play, are cancelled (there will be a video of the play performance for family viewing).
Admissions and overall visitor procedures will be revised to minimize outside risks to our campus community by utilizing tele- and video-conferencing options.
Even travel within Connecticut, given the zones of concern, may be restricted.

We appreciate your help and cooperation with this.
